  Prettislim  Lentil Soup


Pulses are an important source of protein. They contain twice as much protein as found in the same weight of cereals.
Ingredient:

6 teacups -- water, ¾ teacup -- masoor dal (washed), 3 sliced onions, 4 cloves crushed garlic, ½ tsp -- chilli powder
3 tomatoes chopped, 1 tsp -- oil, Salt to taste, Lemon juice for serving.

Method:

Heat the oil and saute the onions for a minute. Add the garlic and chilli powder Fry again for ½ a minute.
Add 6 teacups of water, the tomatoes, masoor dal and salt. Cook in a pressure cooker for one whistle.
When cooked, blend in a mixer.
Boil for 5 minutes.
Garnish with lemon juice. Serve hot.
